Fans of the new Camaro and the Transformers movies have finally got their ultimate muscle car; the Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition. The ‘BUMBLEBEE’ Camaro was announced at Comic-Con in San Diego and sports features such as an EPA-rated 29 highway mpg, Bluetooth phone connectivity, USB connectivity, XM Satellite Radio, OnStar and Transformers design extras.

The V6-powered Camaro uses a 3.6L engine producing 304hp (227kW) and 273lb.-ft. of torque (370Nm). A six-speed manual transmission is standard. The high-performance Camaro SS is equipped with a powerful 6.2L V8, delivering 426hp(318kW) and 420lb.-ft. of torque (569Nm). The third and latest engine available is the LL99 V8 engine used on automatic transmission-equipped SS models. It will reach 400hp (298kW) and 410lb.-ft. of torque (556Nm).

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Special Edition includes the following extras; Autobot shield on the driver and passenger side panels, Autobot shield on each of the four wheel’s center cap, Autobot shield embroidered on interior center console, Transformers logo on driver and passenger doors’ sill plates, Transformers logo embedded into the hood rally stripes and a high-gloss black center rally stripe package.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the package is $995. You can order the special edition muscle car as either a Rally Yellow LT or SS model. Megan Fox is not included as standard nor option…

The Camaro Transformers special edition was announced, aptly, at the comic-book confab Comic-Con in San Diego on Wednesday. Karen Rafferty, Chevrolet product marketing director, couldn’t resist saying, “Streets all over North America will be buzzing in no time.”

The standard Transformers Camaro is, of course, yellow with black stripes and has the Camaro’s 3.6-liter V6 making 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. For those who order a Camaro SS in Transformers livery, it gets the 426-hp V8 (400 hp on the automatic). The same electronic gadgetry is all there, including Bluetooth and USB connectivity, XM satellite radio and OnStar.

The main point of the special edition is the badging. There are Autobot shields on the driver- and passenger-side panels, center caps of all four wheels, and the center console on the inside. The Transformers logo is embedded into the hood stripes and on the sill plates.

The package can be ordered now, on the LT or SS models in Rally Yellow, and costs $995. GM says the optional Camaro RS appearance package can be ordered with the Transformers version, too.

Confirming earlier rumors, Chevrolet has officially announced the 2010 Camaro Transformers Special Edition. The $995 Transformers Special Edition option first appears on Chevrolet’s Web site earlier today, followed by an official press release from the automaker.

Available on Rally Yellow LT and SS models, the Transformers package is intended to emulate the Bumblebee character from the Transformer movies. “When the first Transformers movie was setting box office records, we had countless customers asking to purchase the ‘Bumblebee’ Camaro,” said Karen Rafferty, product marketing director, Chevrolet. “Now, they can buy one with the new Camaro Transformers Special Edition. Streets all over North America will be buzzing in no time.”

The Transformers package includes Autobot badging on the car’s driver and passenger side panels, each of the four wheel’s center caps and on the interior center console. The Transformers logo will be used on the Camaro’s door sills and embedded into the package’s standard high-gloss black hood rally stripes.

No performance improvements will be included in the Transformers package, but it can be had in tandem with the Camaro’s RS package. The Transformers Special Package is available now at Chevrolet dealers nationwide.

    Good afternoon:

Would you be able to tell me the font used for the word TRANSFORMERS on the hood of the Camaro?

The T and the F in the word are lower and I a just curious as to what the font used was.

    ps
If you have any posters or tinkets of the Camaro, my 10 year old son and I would be greatly appreciative.

    Thanks,
    Shelley
